These lists follow Tamil practice. The months avoided for a wedding — Aadi, Purattasi and Margazhi — and the rule against Tuesday are Tamil convention, and the calendar months are the Tamil solar ones.

Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam families: the astronomy is identical, and the nakshatram rules are close to what your family uses.
